Two-time winner Andre Greipel of Germany will defend his title at January's 2011 Tour Down Under, the first event of the 2011 ProTour / 2011 WorldTour.

Greipel, who won the race in 2008 and again in January, will ride for the first time for Omega Pharma-Lotto after leaving his previous team, HTC Columbia, at the end of the 2010 season.

Race director Mike Turtur says "Greipel is a formidable sprinter" and it "will be interesting to see if he can be the first rider to win three editions."

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong will also compete in the race, which runs from January 16-23.
